Job Summary:
Super Micro Computer, Inc. is currently seeking a Production Planning Coordinator who is energetic and detail-oriented to support our fast growing organization. This position will be a member of the manufacturing testing team in the company's headquarters located in San Jose, CA. The Production Planning Coordinator is responsible for planning and controlling all scheduling activities supporting assigned brands, balance production and inventory levels with demand to master scheduling requirements, inventory objectives, and capacity utilization/staffing requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage production schedules to meet delivery timelines and capacity targets.
- Monitor production progress, identify bottlenecks or abnormalities, and coordinate with relevant departments to resolve issues.
- Coordinate production status updates, shipping schedules, and logistics to ensure timely delivery.
- Develop and maintain production plans and coordinate with supply chain and inventory management teams.
- Handle production deviations and coordinate corrective actions with manufacturing and quality teams.
- Propose and implement improvements in production scheduling and workflow processes to increase efficiency.
- Manage mid-to-long-term production demand forecasting and capacity planning.
- Collect, analyze, and report production metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) regularly.
- Monitor product quality and production yields, collaborating with teams to resolve defects or inefficiencies.
- Act as a communication bridge between production, materials, logistics, and customer service teams.
- Utilize SAP or equivalent ERP systems to manage operations, inventory, and production data.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on lean manufacturing and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with relevant certification and substantial experience will also be considered.
- Preferably 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing and/or materials management, including at least 1 year in materials management or production planning.
- Experience with operations, inventory management, MRP systems, and lean manufacturing processes is a plus.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle production deviations and implement corrective actions.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment is advantage for this role.
