Job Summary:

The Sr. Field Application Engineer (FAE) will be part of a growing, dynamic, highly-focused team responsible for developing new or existing opportunities in the global IT market. The FAE will be required to work with customers from ground to executive-level, manage projects hand in hand with internal and external teams, and help grow the business whenever possible. Customer and solution focus, are two key factors for this position, as well as business continuity and support. The FAE must work with multiple departments to ensure new projects and existing projects are initiated or maintained towards customer requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Effectively engage with C-level technical customers, gain and maintain trust.
• Lead and Mentor team of FAE’s in support of revenue growth at all assigned accounts.
• Gathering business and application requirements from the customer, including forward interaction and promotion of Supermicro products
• Design and implementation of customer solutions with products and platforms available, both on and off roadmap
• Leading training and education efforts on Supermicro and market technology, focused on customer needs and requirements.
• Working/ Lead/ Manage with Sales, Engineering, Management, and Operation teams to initialize or support business at the customer and Supermicro, Pre-Sale and Post-Sale support.
• Ability to work as a highly technical problem solver, understands system architecture, hardware, and software interaction.
• Work cross-department to ensure customer satisfaction and timely resolution of issues
• Visit on-site facilities and operations to enable solution integration and issue resolution.
• Lead in solution development, work with design, testing engineers to enable new enterprise and data center solutions.
• Some travel required (up to 25%)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering discipline; computer science, computer engineering and electrical engineering preferred, or an equivalent combination of profession experience and training.
• Excellent communication/ presentation skills, and business sense required.
• 15+ years of related experience with Compute/Storage Server or Data Center or IT Infrastructure experience desired.
• Ability to present the corporate brand, product messaging and solutions to customers.
• Strong background and experience with x86-based server architecture
• Familiar with Data Center infrastructure, Network infrastructure or Liquid-Cooling architecture is a plus.
• Solid HW system design and diagnostics skills
• Familiarity with Firmware, Linux, Windows, and virtualization platforms is a plus.
• Strong technical communication and leadership skills to lead investigations with engineers of multiple disciplines.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
• Individuals must be able to work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
