Job Summary:

Super Micro Computer, Inc. is currently seeking a Production Planning Engineer who is energetic and detail-oriented to support our fast growing organization. This position will be a member of the manufacturing testing team in the company's headquarters located in Senai, Johor. The Production Planning Engineer is responsible for planning and controlling all scheduling activities supporting assigned brands, balance production and inventory levels with demand to master scheduling requirements, inventory objectives, and capacity utilization/staffing requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develops operating plan summaries for assigned product families and selected SKU’s including demand, inventory and production data.
  2. Provides daily bucketed schedules by SKU to manufacturing and installs production compliance metrics to measure performance.
  3. Plans and prepares production schedules for manufacture of industrial or commercial products.
  4. Prepares master schedule to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
  5. Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
  6. Plans and schedules workflow for each line and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
  7. Coordinates manufacturing activities and monitors schedule performance against plans to maintain priorities and meet established schedules by meeting on a regular basis with cross-functional teams to resolve delayed customer shipments, component shortages, overtime, priorities, as well as identifying problems.
  8. Monitor production schedules, identify delays, coordinate with relevant stakeholders to expedite operations, and recommend schedule adjustments to address unforeseen conditions in accordance with established procedures.
  9. Coordinate cross-functional communication to support expedited requests, provide shipping information, and respond to routine order status inquiries.
  10. Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the immediate supervisor or management, in accordance with business requirements.

Qualifications:

  1. Ideally candidate should possess bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with relevant certification and substantial experience will also be considered. 
  2. Preferably 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing and/or materials management, including at least 1 year in materials management or production planning.
  3. Experience with operations, inventory management, MRP systems, and lean manufacturing processes is a plus.
  4. Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is highly desirable.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle production deviations and implement corrective actions.
  6. Excellent communication and coordination skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  7. Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment is advantage for this role.

Salary Range

MYR 5,000 ~ MYR 6,500 per month
