Job Summary:
Supermicro is looking for talented Testing Engineer and takes the ownership of developing test modules to validate products' functionalities of in-house server/storage. The candidate will need to maintain healthy communication with OEM customer to support technical related fields of the product and work closely with Research and Development team to fix post launching product improvements. The outcome is to maximize the efficiency and accuracy of validation result of the performance and quality for SMC server/storage. This position will also be responsible for upgrading the latest software libraries and/or new technologies to maintain business competencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Test Environment Management: Establish and configure test environments in alignment with incoming production volumes, meticulously monitoring and tracking Visual Inspection (VI) and Functional Test (FT) quality rates to ensure continuous improvement in product quality.
- SOP Development: Develop comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for visual inspection and functional testing, ensuring strict adherence to inspection specifications and relevant documentation for consistent quality.
- Production Support: Provide expert assistance to production operators, facilitating efficient troubleshooting and resolution of issues encountered during manufacturing processes to minimize downtime and enhance efficiency.
- Quality & Safety Protocol Implementation: Implement robust Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protection protocols, enforce 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) methodology for workplace organization, and manage the maintenance and calibration of all inspection instruments to ensure safety, accuracy, and compliance.
- Problem Reporting & Resolution: Systematically report and track all identified problems, ensuring thorough documentation and effective resolution to drive continuous process improvement and prevent recurrence.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Production, and Quality Assurance to analyze test data, identify trends, and contribute to product design and process enhancements.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 2-5 years of direct experience in computer manufacturing, specifically within motherboard production, and/or Incoming Quality Control (IQC) for computer materials inspection.
- Academic Requirements: A Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Computer, or Mechanical), Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field. Candidates with degrees in Business or Management with a strong technical minor or relevant industry experience will also be considered. However, if the candidate only has certificates of Diploma but with extensive working experience will be considered.
- Technical Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in testing methodologies, quality assurance processes, and diagnostic tools relevant to motherboard components and systems. Familiarity with industry standards for hardware testing and validation.
- Problem-Solving: Proven ability to analyze complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced production environment.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to inspection, documentation, and quality control, ensuring high standards are consistently met.
- Teamwork & Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with production teams, engineers, and management. Familiarity with Taiwanese business culture and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders from Taiwan will be a significant advantage.
