Supermicro’s Rack Scale Solutions team is at the forefront of innovation, driving the development of cutting-edge AI and HPC solutions that power the next generation of data centers. As the voice, business direction, and technical resource behind Supermicro 3.0, this team plays a critical role in shaping the future of data center infrastructure.
We are seeking a highly motivated Strategic Business Development Manager to join our Rack Scale Solutions team and make a significant impact. In this dynamic role, you will act as a trusted advisor and strategist for identifying and supporting development of new rack business in Japan including, but not limited to collaborating with enterprise clients, system-level architects and C-Suite decision-makers. Your work will focus on identifying new business opportunities, building and nurturing client relationships around the data center, and bringing actionable leads to our sales and channel partners for new rack integration business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Engage with supercomputing and data center customers through strategic outreach and relationship-building.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities to support Supermicro’s goals.
- Collaborate with sales teams to drive opportunities from qualification to close.
- Develop and deliver impactful monthly and on-demand sales training, including training kits.
- Work with internal teams to enhance customer experiences.
- Conduct time-to-market training for new rack products, tailored to customer needs.
- Expand and retain client accounts by identifying growth opportunities and delivering solutions.
- Qualify opportunities by refining target lists for enterprise and data center markets.
- Position Supermicro’s rack solutions as leading data center and HPC solutions.
- Recommend suitable products aligned with client use cases and objectives.
- Build long-term client relationships as a trusted advisor.
- Provide detailed reports and insights to inform strategy.
- Stay updated on industry advancements through continuous learning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related discipline is highly desirable. Advanced degrees or certifications in related fields are a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in server products, system integration, or data center environments, preferably with a background in sales or marketing. Experience in AI, HPC, or enterprise IT solutions is highly preferred.
- Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding assigned goals, KPIs, and project milestones in a results-driven environment.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate across multiple disciplines, cultures, and organizational levels, including C-suite executives.
- Strong ability to work effectively under deadlines and constraints while maintaining precision and attention to detail.
- Experience in tracking, analyzing, and reporting lead activity, with a demonstrated ability to use data to inform business decisions.
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining long-term customer relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to clients.
- Familiarity with data center technologies, including server hardware, rack integration, and enterprise IT infrastructure.
- Technical background or ability to quickly learn technical concepts is essential.
- Consistently meeting/exceeding assigned jobs/goals in timely manner
- Experience tracking and reporting data on lead activity
- Ability to travel 25% of the time
