Job Summary:

Supermicro is looking for a Sr. Technical Project Manager to serve as the critical bridge between our data center facilities/operations team and the deployment/implementation teams. This role is responsible for ensuring that data center architecture, power systems, and thermal cooling solutions (both liquid and air-based) are fully aligned with deployment schedules and project requirements. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in data center design with strong project coordination and vendor management skills to deliver reliable, efficient, and scalable infrastructure solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary liaison between the data center facilities team and deployment teams, ensuring clear communication, alignment on timelines, and resolution of any infrastructure-related blockers
  • Monitor deployment schedules, break down large-scale projects into detailed phases, track milestones, and proactively identify risks or dependencies related to power, cooling, and layout
  • Provide expert input on data center architecture and layout, including rack placement, power distribution, airflow management, and overall facility design to support efficient hardware deployment
  • Lead the evaluation, design, and implementation of power and thermal cooling systems, with strong expertise in both liquid cooling (direct-to-chip, immersion, etc.) and traditional air-cooling technologies
  • Partner and coordinate closely with vendors and suppliers to develop customized solutions, review proposals, negotiate scope, and ensure on-time delivery of power, cooling, and infrastructure components
  • Collaborate on capacity planning, system optimization, and troubleshooting to maintain high availability and energy efficiency during deployment phases
  • Document deployment processes, create phase-gate deliverables, and contribute to continuous improvement of data center standards and best practices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or a related technical field (Master’s preferred)
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in data center operations, facilities engineering, or large-scale IT/hardware deployment
  • Deep expertise in data center power systems and thermal management/cooling technologies, with direct experience in both liquid cooling and air-cooling solutions
  • Solid understanding of data center architecture, layout planning, and industry standards
  • Proven ability to monitor complex deployment schedules, break down projects into actionable phases, and drive cross-functional coordination
  • Strong vendor management and negotiation skills; experience partnering with OEMs and solution providers to co-create technical solutions
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively liaise between technical facilities teams and deployment/operations stakeholders

Salary Range

$162,000 - $182,000

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
